Welcome to Texas Techies Animator 2009!!
Texas Techies Organization and Grande Communications are hosting the Animator 2009 Competition in Corpus Christi, Texas.
For this year's competition, the challenge is to create an animation using the software Scratch. The competition is open to all Corpus Christi area school children under 17 years of age.
Animator 2009 is a two step process:
  1. Competitors register and submit their entries.
  2. Ten (10) Finalists will qualify to compete in the "Animator's Scratch-Off" to be held on Friday, November 20, 2009. Finalists will be required to show proof of age and school by presenting a valid school ID. 

Animator 2009 Winners Announced


Supporters include: Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, Corpus Christi's Mayor Joe Adame, Education Service Center, City of Corpus Christi Oso Recreational Center, HEB, Moody High School Minds in Motion Multimedia Club, Whataburger, Solomon Ortiz Jr, and Neonatology Consultants of Corpus Christi.

Booths will also include: Grande Communications, Computer Science at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, CoastalBendMamas.com, CASA of the Coastal Bend, American Income, Silver Spoon Prodigy Child Care, Social Media Club, Waddell & Reed, and lots more.

The goal is to have as much community support in engaging Corpus Christi students in math, science, and technology, as these are the most important factors in creating tomorrow's workforce.

August 21: Competition Launch
November 1: Deadline for submitting entries.

        - Competition Time: 5:40pm - 6:40pm
        - Judging Time: 6:50pm - 7:10pm
        - Awards Ceremony: 7:10pm

After your registration is received you will receive a confirmation number for submitting your entries. You can submit as many entries as you like. So start submitting today!

Getting Started

Register your kids today! Need Help? We'll come to your classroom and conduct a 30 minute starter workshop to get you and your kids ready to compete.
Animate it! Design it! Program it! Play it! LEARN it! Kids will learn important mathematical and computational ideas such as coordinates, variables, and random numbers, how to create interactive stories, animations, games, music, art, and start to think creatively, and reason systematically.
