Santa Needs You! Only $25 to sponsor a child!

Texas Techies is on a mission to help foster children in South Texas and we need your help.

Roxie Esquivel from ‘A World For Children’ needs to get 35 children sponsored for Christmas. They are hosting their annual Christmas party on December 10, 2009 and are still short on sponsors for children.  
 
All that is required is a $25 dollar donation or Gift card (ex. Target, Wal-Mart, Toys R Us) to allow us to purchase the toy of the child's choice for the party. 
 
Roxie said, "It just makes me all teary when I watch these children open up a gift at the party and are in just amazement when they get what they asked for from Santa."
 
Deadline: We need to get all donations in by Dec 8, 2009. I know this is short notice...but we are running low on sponsors and we know that you can help us make this christmas memorable for a few South Texas kids.

CHRISTMAS TIME!!

As it is for most children, Christmas is a very exciting time of the year for our kids.  Many of them are from biological homes where they have been abused in unmentionable ways.  Most of them have only known Christmas as a time when all of the adults were drunk and abusive and where there were no gifts and in many cases not even a Christmas tree.  They saw other children receiving all kinds of gifts and all they could do was hang their little heads in sadness and wonder why they could not receive a gift. 
Here at AWFC, each office creates a magical Christmas for those children whose culture and faith celebrate Christmas, complete with a party, Santa Claus, Christmas gifts and lots of good food and fellowship. In addition to funding these parties, we also give each child a $50 Wal-Mart gift card to use however they wish.  This is the first time for many of them to have their very own money to purchase whatever they want.  Each child also receives a $25 gift based on a personal wish list they provide to their Case Managers.  Watching their eyes light up as they open their gifts is something to behold! http://awfc.org/donate.html

About AWFC

A World For Children (AWFC) is a faith based,  non-profit 501 (c) (3) child  placing agency licensed by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (TDFPS) to provide foster care for abused and neglected children, ages birth to 18 years.  A World For Children is also licensed and has a contract with TDFPS to provide adoption services.
 
A World For Children began in April of 1997.  The founders of A World For Children, Paul and Sharon Willis and Rebecca Allen,  began with a dream and a desire to make a better world for God’s special kids.  From that humble beginning, God has blessed A World For Children and has entrusted us with over 6000 children.  Currently we are serving over 800 abused children in 442 foster homes across the State of Texas.
